Apocalypse Again is a fictional story that imagines the radical reformation of the early 1500’s happening in the modern day United States. Social and political upheaval create an environment where the established church structures are threatened and as the fabric of peace unravels the church begins to persecute ‘the enemy within’ as it takes control over society and asserts the church’s role in defining morality.
Pastor Mark Abram Zechariah ousts Pastor Dirk Sattler to become the new lead pastor of Sunset View Bible Church in York Pennsylvania where his political message creates an alliance between church and state that amplifies both the power of the church and the state. In response to the overzealous use of power, church leaders and social activists unite to protect those marginalized by new policies and enforcement by the US Government’s administration. Pastor Mark and Sunset View replay the familiar theme of rooting out the evil within only to become the very thing the church has always struggled against.
